Remember that time you came up with the amazing idea to make mason jar candles?
Yes you do. Well, I’ve found the way forward!
I was reading one of my favorite DC bloggers, Dear Heart and she was saying she doesn’t always follow through on DIY (me too! me too!) but that she found an easy one. And it turned out to be homemade scented candles from a pair & a spare. (that link will bring you straight to the tutorial.)
she put them in pretty little votives, but i see not one reason we can’t put them in the mason jars like you suggested. would we even want to add some polka dots to them? i probably would.
LET’S DO THIS. You in?

FYI candle making was a favorite hobby of mine in middle school. But I don’t know how to make them smell nice….

I had this idea that I should start putting glitter polka dots on things, namely wine glasses and/or flower vases.
But before that could start, I wanted to test it out and what’s better than a mason jar to test out glitter polka dots? Nothing, I’d say. Here’s the results. I think you’ll love ‘em or hate ‘em. I am in the former camp.

They are really simple to make! I think I will do a tutorial tonight and post it tomorrow.
XO, W.
PS: Have you looked up homemade candles? I’m into trying it…

Would you ever consider making your own yogurt?
I guess a better first question would be, do you eat yogurt? I do. And I love it.
Mark Bittman suggested this article on homemade yogurt which linked to this recipe. Obviously, this isn’t something we’d send each other, but it is something we could store in jars.
What do you think?
